The Way of the Righteous

(Meditating on Psalm 1)

This weekend, may we:

  • Learn to shun the way of the world, and not to sit and partake with its offering of ungodly pleasures. We can do this by not watching TV programs or going to internet sites that feature sensual and lewd scenes and foul language, or anything that is outside of our pursuit of a holy life. The impure things we see and hear can pollute our otherwise pure minds and can affect our feelings and moods in a negative way.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. (2 Cor. 10:5).

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. (1 Pet. 1: 16)

  • Delight in God’s Word anew, approaching it with great anticipation, interest and hunger. May we soak in it: meditating, savoring, and digesting every verse, every chapter. May our day be not complete without picking the Holy Bible and reading it with renewed hope and joy.

The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. (Psalm 19: 8, 10)

Our God knows and sees our every move. Nothing is hid from Him. No, not our thoughts nor the meditations of our hearts. Therefore, may our thoughts, words and deeds honor Him. May our lives remain surrendered to Him – humbly and gladly, never grudgingly. May our hearts constantly beat in true love and pure adoration for Him.

He knows the right way we take, and He will prosper us. Amen.

I totally agree with this, Rina. What we think about, watch on TV, etc. definitely have an affect our our spiritual lives. This is a warning we all need to heed.
    Blessings,
