The Benefits {and Birthday Giveaways}

A family that is not bound by the sanctity of marriage, albeit, love is present for the years of unholy union have borne children. Children that are hopeful for a happy and harmonious family and a bright future. But nowadays, it is becoming more apparent that there is something weightier than love. It is ambition. For a dream and an ambition, one would gamble all. And so, leaving behind a mother with a heart that’s torn and wide-eyed children whose future now looks dim – one would set out to pursue that dream. That dream would require a marriage to another, someone who could bring one to a land flowing with milk and honey. It is a marriage for convenience, people say. But in this case, the woman loves the man whose heart belongs to the mother of his children. But ambition is weightier than love…

This is a true story. There are others quite similar and they’re just near. The world is so broken but it can’t heal itself.

I think about these things deeply. I know that for most people of the world, this phrase has become so commonplace it has probably lost its power to them, but it is always true to me and I will not grow weary in declaring it: The Lord Jesus Christ is the only One who can turn a life around.

What makes me think deeper is the question: How will a Christ-follower make one see that the Lord Jesus can fix a life – solve its problems and change its course?

One hindrance that I see here is one’s belief that one is serving God from wherever one is, not knowing that one is in a place where Truth is not present. For if one were truly in the Lord, why is one still so lost? So, there is that belief that there is no difference whether one stays and serves God where one is, or seeks a more intimate relationship with Him in His Church.

My “remedy” for this is: see the benefits. There is a whole lot of difference between a life in the Lord Jesus Christ and a life that is in the world which falsely serves God (or serves a false god). Truth is, life in Him is incomparable. For how would one compare eternity with death, or heaven with hell?

The benefits of a life in Christ are summarized in this:

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. (1 Cor. 1:30)

Wisdom

Righteousness

Sanctification (or Holiness)

Redemption

All these things are absent in a life that is not in the Lord Jesus Christ. On the other hand, all blessings emanate from these. One need not wrestle to try to make life right and repeatedly fail. One needs only to surrender one’s life to the Lord Jesus Christ and He will make everything alright.

Praise the Mighty Name of our Dearest JESUS!
Good day ate Rina and advance Happy and Blessed Birthday to you!
Indeed our Dearest JESUS is the only one who can truly changed our lives and make every family live peaceably and happy. My parents used to smoke and drink a lot of alcohol everyday and end up fighting with each other and it really affects us all. But our GOD is really good! One day their lives were changed by the grace of our Dearest JESUS when we surrendered it all to Him through the fervent prayer of our Beloved and Honorable Pastor Wilde E. Almeda. And I really thank our good LORD for that.
All the glory, honor and thanksgiving belongs only to our Father in Heaven, Dearest JESUS!

  2. Dear Rina,

I saw your blog on Women Living Well. I was drawn by the feminine dress and picture of your dear family. I would like to ask permission to possibly use the picture in one of my feminine dress posts, but can’t guarantee that I will use it.

While I am here reading from your very excellent blog, I would like to extend an invitation to link-up on the Deep Roots At Home ‘Encourage One Another’ link-up each Wednesday. I am always looking for edifying material for the link-up and your topics fit nicely.

    Grace and peace,
    Jacqueline

    HI Rina,

It really inspires me where and how you get your energy. You have been such an inspiration and I do admire you for being such a good servant of the Lord. Honestly, life is totally different now, so as the people around us. If only everyone can be sensitive enough in all their actions, thoughts and deeds our world would be a better place to live in. I am just so lucky that I have always been God fearing and was able to realized that soon that with God all things are possible. I have always instilled in my kids that having faith in God is the best foundation one can have. One thing that really turns me off is when they go to mass or attend church services not wearing the proper dress code. Can’t we parents teach our kids to refrain from going to mass or attending church services in shorts so as to avoid destruction. I believe that we parents should stop them in doing so because it is the right thing to do. At least later on when these kids have their own family and become parents, they themselves can pass it on to their children. It really annoys me since they have published the proper dress code all over many, many times. It was even in the papers just to make everyone aware. It’s not too late, let’s all give our share in doing something good. And to you Rina, I wish you all the best …. I hope to meet you personally one day. Warm regards to Hannah and your hubby. May you continue to inspire people and be an inspiration to all.

  5. Danicris Faith says:

PRAISE THE MIGHTY NAME OF OUR DEAREST JESUS!
We are and I am so blessed to have our LIVING GOD in our lives. Knowing our LORD and SAVIOR is the best / greatest gift ever happened in our lives. Words of gratitude and even praises to HIM is not enough to express what we really feel upon having HIM as the center of our life despite of the sins and shortcomings, we, humans have done towards to our LORD and to others. As what my Mom always telling me that no matter what happens, we should not forget our LORD in every season of our lives whether its happy or sad moment/s of us.
I’ve been tested and proven how our LORD works in our lives from the smallest and even biggest things that my family and I experience. We just have to call HIS name and HE will answer us, (Jeremiah 3:33)

“No matter what happens, IN CHRIST ALONE, I PLACE MY WHOLE TRUST.”

    Belated Happy Birthday, Ate Rina!
I fervently pray that our DEAREST JESUS will grant all of your heart’s desires.
Especially, I pray that you and your family will continue serving our DEAREST JESUS until He comes.
    God bless you always! 😀
