Meditating on Psalm 112.
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who delights greatly in His commandments.
…The generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches will be in his house,
And his righteousness endures forever.
4 Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness;
He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. (Ps. 112:1-4)
Lately, I have been begging the Lord to bring change into my life, meaning, healing to my body, liberation from suffering, and complete recovery at last – walking, doing things normally, and travelling. Change came but in the form of faith with renewed intensity – different, higher, deeper, with more understanding.
So, my thought system changed. My spiritual understanding shifted. I am believing unwaveringly, unswervingly. The prayers pour out steadily. Praying is no longer at times praying for the sake of praying. But praying where every word has a weight and meaning. Nothing wasted or uttered in vain.
Scriptures and God’s promises are no longer doubted unconsciously. His Word, every verse, is believed, received, trusted, embraced, held.
So, if Psalm 112 says “Blessed is the man…”, I believe. And I am blessed. I am ALWAYS blessed because He knows me (He knows the number of hair on my head!); He loves me unfailingly even though I go through suffering. He knows my case, it is not hidden from Him. I will be this:
Surely he will never be shaken;
The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance.
7 He will not be afraid of evil tidings;
His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. (vv. 6-7)
