Meditating on Psalm 113.
Praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.
2 Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and for evermore.
3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord’s name is to be praised. (Ps. 113:1-3)
Praise the Lord through the battle; praise Him in triumphs. Praise the Lord through trials; praise Him in deliverance. Praise the Lord in sorrow; praise Him in celebrations. Praise the Lord in the dark valley; praise Him on the mountain. Praise the Lord as the storm rages; praise Him in calm.
He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap;
8 he seats them with princes,
with the princes of his people.
9 He settles the childless woman in her home
as a happy mother of children. (vv. 7-9)
He raises the poor [poor in spirit, in material wealth, in health] from the dust. He lifts the needy [the poor, the sick and the suffering] from the ash heap. He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children – all things are possible for Him!
These verses tell of His compassion that He’s a God who’s plenteous in mercy; it tells of His justice and mighty power.
So, praise Him for He is God in heaven and on earth. Praise Him for He can do all things. Praise Him for He is to be feared, awed, worshipped, adored. Praise Him for He alone is worthy! Praise Him for He does wondrous things for us.
Praise Him until the floodgates of heaven opens and His blessings poured out upon us! Praise ye the Lord!
